Building Surveys

For most people, a house purchase is the most expensive thing they will buy, and they will spend a great deal of their life paying for it. A house is both a home and an investment. It should provide a safe and secure environment for you and your family, but not end up costing more than you bargained for.

It can take a long time to find the house of your dreams and quite often your heart can rule your head. Having a surveyor find fault with it is not always easy to bear. However, the purpose of the survey is not to dissuade you from buying a property, but to make sure you have all the information you need at your disposal in order to make an informed decision.

The Building Survey, which is now called a Level 3 Home Survey, is the most thorough RICS home purchase survey. It involves an in depth inspection and detailed report and provides a comprehensive assessment of the condition of

the property.

It is suitable for older properties, those in poor condition, or those which have been or will be substantially altered. However, we have undertaken them to newer properties for customers who want the assurance of a comprehensive assessment of their investment.

It will include estimated costs for the more urgent remedial works, which will help with budgetting and purchase price negotiations, but does not include valuations of the property.
